Jeevan, Suicide Prevention Centre, Jamshedpur in association with Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West organized a program on a virtual platform to observe the World Suicide Prevention Day.


Mr Imtiaz Ali, Indian Film Maker and Writer was the chief guest for this program. He appreciated the work Jeevan is doing and wished that it had been there while he was growing up as he had lost one of his close friend to suicide.

Ms Rita Aggarwal, a Consultant Psychologist, a TEDx speaker at BITS, Pilani was the Guest Speaker. She spoke on ‘Emotional Fitness’. She quoted the Dalai Lama and Sri APJ Kalam. She gave the message that one should have enthusiasm for work and compassion to remain fit physically and emotionally.

Results for the one minute video making competition on the theme ‘Creating Hope through Action were announced. This year, 36 videos made by about 200 students from 25 institutes were received.

The winners of this competition are:

1st – Loyola Hindi School

2nd – DBMS Kadma High School

3rd – Jusco School South Park

Videos made by the students of DBMS College of Education, B Ed, JH Tarapore School and  Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir, Ghatsila got a special mention of the Judges. The three judges were: Dr Neha Tiwari,Academician, Film Maker, Ex Jury National Film awards, GOI; MsMahvish Rahman, Field Publicity Officer, PIB-ROB, Ministry of Information and Broadcast, Ranchi; Mrs Biyotpragya Tripathy, National Award Winner, Filmmaker, Bhubaneshwer.

The welcome address was delivered by President, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, Rtn Rajesh Kumar. Dr J R Jain, Director, Jeevan Shared Jeevan’s activity details with the audience.

Principals, teachers and students of various institutions, Founder Director of ‘JEEVAN’, Dr. Mahavir Ram along with other volunteers of Jeevan, members of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West and other Rotary Clubs attended this program on zoom.
